Saskia Levy

I bring over 15 years’ experience developing and facilitating inclusive arts programs in community and disability settings, and 8 years as an art therapist in mental health and wellbeing.

My early work included accessible studio workshops for adults with disability, expressive arts programs for children with disabilities and their siblings, and mosaic workshops in rural Queensland communities and schools. I worked extensively with Access Arts and CPL (formerly the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland), as well as on community projects with Brisbane City Council.

After completing a Master of Mental Health (Art Therapy) and a Diploma of Counselling, I joined Richmond Fellowship Queensland’s allied health team, where for three years I designed and facilitated group art therapy programs and individual sessions in adult mental health. This included supporting NDIS participants living with psychosocial disability, including complex and long-term mental health challenges, within a recovery-oriented, person-centred approach.

For the past five years, I have continued this work in private practice supporting adults and older adults in aged care, community programs, and individual sessions. I have also worked with children, families, and veterans, adapting approaches to different needs and settings, including telehealth.

My practice is informed by ongoing learning in expressive arts therapies, counselling, and dementia care, and by connecting with Australian and international art therapy specialists in aged care, healthy ageing, and mental health.
